Our History

The Krewe of Hercules is a proud part of Houma’s Mardi Gras tradition, bringing color, celebration, and community spirit to Terrebonne Parish. Founded on the values of unity, heritage, and service, Hercules has grown into one of the region’s most recognizable krewes, known for its spectacular parade, dedicated membership, and commitment to keeping the magic of Carnival alive year after year.

From its earliest days, the mission of the Krewe has been simple: celebrate our culture, uplift our community, and create unforgettable Mardi Gras experiences for families across South Louisiana. Every float, every bead thrown, and every event we host reflects the pride we have in our home and the long-standing traditions that make this region special.

Today, our krewe includes members from all walks of life who share the same goal — to put on a parade and season of events that Houma can be proud of. Our riders, court, officers, and volunteers work year-round to build floats, plan gatherings, support local causes, and prepare for the moment the streets come alive with music, color, and Carnival energy.
